Our History
Our firm traces its roots back, deep into the 20th century, when our first facility was dedicated. Many years later, this location has seen renovations and changes, but has always been and will continue to be an integral part of this community.
Over the years, the original mission of the firm hasn't changed. We have always intended to provide the best, most professional services, complemented by the finest products. Today, we pride ourselves on being current with the major changes in funeral service trends - and bring those innovations and memorialization options to our client families with integrity and insight.

Shane Young, Managing Partner/Funeral Director & Embalmer Since 1992Joined Ramsey Funeral Home October 2006. Shane Young grew up in the Highland community of Lincoln County. He has been in the funeral business since 1988, having worked at all four Carriage locations during that time. Since October 2006, he has resided in Lancaster and works as Manager of Ramsey Funeral Home. Shane’s family includes his wife, Sherry and children; Zak, Ashton, and Alexis. In his spare time, he enjoys landscaping, hunting, staying outdoors, and loves to keep himself busy. Shane is currently on the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, member of the Lancaster Lodge #104 F&AM, and a member of the Professional & Advisory Committee for Heritage Hospice.

Kate Bellamy, Funeral Director & Embalmer ApprenticeKate Bellamy a native of Frankfort, but now resides in Lancaster. She is a 2010 graduate of Mid -America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, IN. Kate is a member of the Church of the Nazerene in Lancaster as well. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, playing softball with her church, going to movies and concerts, and reading. She is a member of the Lions Club, and the Funeral Divas, which is a National Organization for female funeral directors.

Rusty Sebastian, Funeral Director & EmbalmerRusty Sebastian is the son of Russell and Beulah Sebastian of Lancaster. He resides in Lancaster with his loving wife, Bridget. He has two sons, Austin & Brayden. Rusty works full-time at Tru Check in Danville. He is a member of Lancaster Baptist Church, where he also serves as the church custodian.

John David Friend, Apprentice Funeral Director & Embalmer Since May 2004John David Friend was born in Garrard County, moved away when his father was minister and moved back in 1994. He began at Ramsey Funeral Home in May 2004. He is married to Mary Elizabeth Benton Friend. John David & Mary reside in Stanford with their daughter, Jesse. His family, whom all reside in Lancaster, includes his mother and father, Johnny Dale & Joyce Rogers Friend; one sister, Perri Ann; and his beloved Yorkie, Rollie. In his spare time, he enjoys running, playing golf, watching UK sports, and spending time with friends and family. In May 2005, Friend graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business/Marketing Education. Currently, has his master's degree in Administration. John David is a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Stanford.

JoAnn McCulley, Ambassador Since November 2002JoAnn McCulley was raised in Lincoln County, but has lived in Garrard County the last 58 years. She began working at Ramsey Funeral Home in November 2002. Her family, whom all reside in Lancaster, includes her husband, James; one son, Jimmy; and one granddaughter, Hailey. In her spare time, JoAnn enjoys reading, watching UK sports, and talking on the telephone. She worked at Cowden’s 40 years, before it went out of business. She also worked eight years at Matshusta before retiring from full-time work. JoAnn attends Lancaster Baptist Church.

Darrell Estes, Ambassador Since March 2007Darrell Estes was born and raised in Estill County, but has spent the majority of his life in Garrard County. Darrell served with the 9th Infrantry Division In Viet Nam. He began the funeral home business in March 2007. His family includes his wife, Karla Teresa; three daughters, Teri (Mike) Wentworth, Megan Estes, and Amanda (Scott) Hicks; and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Darrell likes collecting Die Cast Model hearses and old cars and woodworking. His favorite pastime, however, is rebuilding old cars and trucks. Darrell is the minister of McKinney Christian Church in Lincoln County.

Ricky Sparks, Ambassador Since April 2009Ricky Sparks was born and raised in Lancaster. He has been in the funeral business since 1977. Ricky was a graduate of Garrard County High School and the Mid American College for Funeral Service. He is a former funeral director, embalmer, and co-owner of Ramsey Funeral Home. His family includes his parents, Ann Snyder West and Bobby Sparks; one sister, Michele West Morgan; and one niece, Casey Elizabeth Morgan. Ricky has been a county volunteer for KET the past 15 years, director for the Buckeye Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, and is a charter member of the Garrard County Historical Society. In his spare time, Ricky enjoys collecting antiques, history, and genealogy. He is a member and the organist at Bethel Christian Church.

Brandon Sebastian, Ambassador Since April 2009Brandon Sebastian was born in Danville, KY, but was raised in Lancaster. He began working at Ramsey Funeral Home in April 2009 and has had funeral home experience in the past. He is single and lives with his father and mother (Bee & Lisa Sebastian). In his spare time, he enjoys playing football and basketball, going to the lake, watching UK sports, joy riding, and spending time with friends and family. In May 2008, Brandon graduated from Bluegrass Community and Technical College with an Associates of Science Degree in Information Management and Design. Brandon also works at Danville’s UPS as an AM OMS Supervisor. Brandon is a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church.

Billy C. Doolin, Ambassador Since April 2009Billy Doolin has been a lifelong resident of Garrard County and has been a farmer all his life. As well as his love for the land, Billy is also active in the community serving on several boards including the Garrard County Farm Bureau Board, the Soil Conservation Board, board member of the Garrard County Water Association, Committee Member of the Garrard County Tobacco Cutting Contest and a Forest Ranger.

Bill Demrow, Funeral Director & EmbalmerBill Demrow has lived in Stanford/Lincoln County for his entire life. He started his career in 1965, working with Bill Fox at the age of 14. He became licensed in 1974, purchased Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home in 1978, and later purchased Fox Funeral Home, and is now the Managing partner for Barnett & Demrow, Fox, and Ramsey Funeral Homes. Bill’s family includes his wife, Debbie; one daughter, Jenny; one son, Curt, who is the manager of Preston-Pruitt Funeral home in Danville, and three grandchildren. He is a Corvette and Harley Davidson enthusiast. Bill enjoys UK basketball and doing yard work. He is Past President of Kentucky Coroners Association (3 times), 2007 Lincoln County Citizen of the Year presented by Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Fort Logan Hospital Foundation. He currently serves as the Coroner for Lincoln County. Bill attends Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Curtis Hannah, Funeral Director Since June 2008Curtis grew up in Casey County. He started his apprenticeship to become a funeral director in June 2005 and finished in June 2008, when he became a Licensed Funeral Director. Curtis has four years experience in funeral service, having been with the funeral home since February of 2004. Curtis is married to Meredith. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his 13 nieces and nephews. Curtis is active in Stanford Rotary, Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Big Brother Big Sister of the Bluegrass, Lincoln County Toys for Kids, and Stanford Main Street Program. He attends Pleasant View Baptist Church in Lincoln County.

Tom Stocker, Funeral DirectorTom Stocker was born and raised in Danville and considers himself a lifelong resident to the community. Tom has worked for the funeral home business 20 years, spending 15 years with Preston-Pruitt. He has two daughters, Kelly and Katie; and one granddaughter, Laci. Tom enjoys golfing and camping, in his spare time. He is a member of Masonic Lodge-Franklin #28 (Danville), Kiwanis Club, a Salvation Army Bell ringer, and on the Board of Directors for Bluegrass Steam & Gas Engine Association. Tom attends Calvary Baptist Church in Danville.

Kerry Jones, Family Services CounselorBro. Kerry Jones first came to Lincoln County in 1982 and worked in ministry for the past 30 years. He was ordained into ministry in 1986 and continues that work today. He and his wife Kathy live in Stanford. They have two daughters Jamie Hatter and Lindsay Harris and two grandchildren Alex and Claire Hatter.
