Carolyn R. Hill

Carolyn Rose Hill, 74, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville, KY. Born to the late Opal Burdette McKinney & Ann Gertrude Adams in Lexington, KY on Friday, March 26, 1948.  Carolyn and her late husband Orval, were owners of their trucking company. She was a also a former deli manager & caterer. Carolyn enjoyed spending time at Garrard County Senior Citizens Center, as well as breeding & raising her Tennessee Walking horses. She was a member of Preachersville Methodist Church.

Aside from her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, the late Orval Hill; brothers, the late Gary McKinney and the late Dale McKinney; sisters, the late Betty Taylor, the late Charlotte Bolin, the late Brenda Camerino; and a grandchild, the late Arianna Opal Appleman. Survivors include a son, Donnie (Sabrina) Turner, of Madisonville; daughters, Cynthia (Steve) Mitchell, of Parksville and Angela (Steve) Appleman, of Wolfe County, KY; brothers, Darrell (Kathy) McKinney, of Richmond, IN, Robert “Bobby” McKinney, of Lee County, KY, and Phillip McKinney, of Stanton, KY; a sister, Leatrice McKinney, of Richmond, IN; grandchildren, Angelica Appleman, of Garrard County, Stephanie Rose (Chad) Runyan, of Garrard County, Roxie Appleman, of Garrard County, Alexa Appleman, of Garrard Country, Drake (Gloria) Frazier, of Parksville, Amber Dawn Turner, of Westchester, Ohio, and Cody Ray Turner, of Madisonville; great-grandchildren, Jamie Palmer, Elianna Appleman, Amirra Rose Runyan, Ezra Runyan, Andre David Frazier, and Ana Frazier; special pets, Tubby, Dolly, MsT, Mitzi & “Puppy”, and a host of loved nieces, nephews & cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, September 19, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Rev. Lannie Haselwood officiating and burial following at 2:00 PM at Eaton Cemetery in Clay City. Pallbearers include Darrell McKinney, Bobby McKinney, Phillip McKinney, Drake Frazier, Donnie Turner, Angela Appleman, and Cynthia Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers include Elsie Davis, Steve Mitchell, Steve Appleman, Cody Turner, and the friends & staff at the Garrard County Senior Citizens Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00—8:00 PM Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home.
