George Thomas Peek II, 54, of Lancaster, husband of Donna Peek, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Landmark of Lancaster. Born Friday, September 8, 1967 in Danville, he was a son of Susie Emerson Peek & the late George Thomas “Tommy” Peek. George was a deputy jailer at Boyle County Detention Center & a member of Lancaster Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, video gaming & Nascar. He was considered the life of the party, and never met a stranger. George was an avid UK basketball fan. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Suzanne Peek; grandparents, Gladys & James Emerson & Martha & James Peek; mother & father-in-law, Don & Hazel Ramsey.
Survivors other than his wife include a son, Ramsey (Bobbie) Peek, of Lancaster; brother, Andrew (Ashley) Peek, of Harrodsburg; sister, Lea (Daniel) Padgett, of Higginsville, Missouri; sister-in-laws, Cathy (Jeff) Meadors, Tammy Goins, Kim (Greg) Young; nieces & nephews, Kyle & Camden Peek, Rilynn Garcia, Madelyn Witte, Annabelle Padgett, Tiffany (Nehemiah) Wilkinson, Lindsey Meadors, Chasity (Chris) Clark, Sarah Goins, Chase Ballard, Kelsey Young, Lynsey (Shawn) Smith; great-nieces & nephews, Kason Wood, Kyndall & Kade Clark, Ariah & Hezekiah Wilkinson, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, & other extended family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Denny & Pastor Matt Cooke officiating with burial following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Caswell Saufley Post #18 of the American Legion will be performing full military honors. Pallbearers include Andrew Peek, Ricky Gibson, Gary Shearer, Bobby Potts, Phil Yates, Barry Harmon, & Billy Miniard. Honorary pallbearers include Kim Baird, Daniel Padgett, Jeff Meadors, & Greg Young. Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the funeral home.
