Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Allan Wheeler of Milford Ohio passed away on February 27th of 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Jerry was born May 28th 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Conn L. Wheeler and Dorothy Mae Crutchfield Wheeler. Jerry grew up in Lancaster, Ky and graduated Garrard County High School Class of 1961, and continued his education at the University of Kentucky, followed by a successful career in Engineering with NASA in Huntsville Alabama from 1968-2010.
Jerry was a passionate Chess Player who was very involved with the Huntsville Chess Club as well as introducing the younger generation to the game. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Erskine Wheeler. He is survived by his children Laura A. Wheeler, Warren E. Wheeler, 2 Grandchildren, Cameron Wheeler, Charles Wheeler and his sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Wheeler.
Funeral services will be 1:00 Monday, March 6, 2023 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home by Rev. Darrell Estes with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery.
