Hazel Naylor

Hazel Marie Naylor, 100, of Lancaster, Kentucky, passed away November 30th, 2022 in Lancaster, Kentucky. The Garrard County native was the daughter of Lennie & Winnie Tapp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Naylor, Sr., an infant son, Carl Rice Naylor, one sister, Pauline Tapp, and two brothers, Charles & James Tapp. Hazel worked for 40 plus years, working in Lancaster as a store manager & clerk. Everyone knew her & she loved being able to meet people on a daily basis. She enjoyed working, raising a garden, and taking care of her flowers. She finally retired the last time at 84 years old after retiring twice before that. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, George H. Naylor, Jr. of Harrodsburg, KY., three granddaughter’s, Tammy (the late Michael) Rhodus of Lancaster, KY.; Georgeanne Naylor, of Danville, KY.; Charlene (Sharkie) Broadus, of Lancaster, KY.; grandson, Charlie (Mary) Gilliam of Paint Lick, KY.; great-granddaughters, Kristen (James) Hood of Morehead, KY.; Courtney (John) Blackmore of Stanford, KY.; Alexandria Naylor, of Danville, KY.; Brittany (Brandon) Mason of Houston, TX; Kelly (Josh) Fitzgerald, of Stanford, KY.; great-grandsons, Jordon Shewmaker, Stanton, KY; Chris (Lindsey) Broadus, of Houston, TX; Morgan (Kacie) Gilliam of Lancaster, KY; Lincoln (Laura) Gilliam, of Stanford, KY, great-great-granddaughters, Harper Clay Hood, Hadley James Hood, of Morehead, KY; Maevyn Blackmore, of Stanford, KY; Tinley Towles, of Houston, TX; Kinley Fitzgerald, of Stanford, KY; Sadie Eleanor Gilliam, Ely Bennett Gilliam, of Lancaster, KY; great-great-grandsons, Jackson Towles, of Houston, TX; Brodie Mason, of Houston, TX; Rider Fitzgerald, Jack Harmon Fitzgerald, of Stanford, KY; Matthew Blake Gilliam, of Stanford, KY & several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky Davis officiating and burial following at Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, December 5, 2022 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Morgan Gilliam, Roy Gibson, Eric Gibson, James Hood & John Blackmore.
