James W. Lear, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Born Saturday, December 07, 1940 in Garrard County, he was a son of the late Theodore & Mabel Kavanaugh Lear. James was a material handler for Huttig for 19 years, he was member of Flatwood Baptist Church where he was also a deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Betty Lear; sons, Anthony Lear, James Cecil Lear, Bobby Douglas Lear; brothers, Theodore Lear & James Lear. Survivors include sisters, Bertha Mitchell, of Lexington, Odessa Clark, of Indiana; sisters-in-laws, Patricia Dunn, of Lexington, Cynthia Penman, of Lancaster, Elizabeth Burrios, of Lexington; brothers-in-laws, Carl (Mildred) Dunn, of Lexington, Michael (Carolyn) Dunn, of Lexington, Paul Dunn, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Cecil, James D., Marlon, Bobby, Audriana, Josh, Betty; several great-grandchildren & a special nephew, Ronnie Lear, of Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 20,2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Roberts & Rev. Alfred Glasper officiating . Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home. Per request of the family, facial coverings and social distancing are required to attend services.
