Jerry Gilbert Lamb, 70, of Stanford passed away Friday, September 22, 2023 at his home.
Jerry was the son of Willard Gilbert and Frances (Henderson) Lamb, and was born October 20, 1952 in Richmond, Kentucky.
Jerry attended Paint Lick Elementary School, graduated from Garrard County High School in 1970, and from Eastern Kentucky University in 1974 with a B.S. in Accounting. He was a partner and employed by several accounting firms, and later retired from the University of Kentucky.
He enjoyed playing music, reading, learning, and teaching, and various arts and crafts. Jerry always enjoyed a good joke or prank (giving or receiving), had a huge heart, and never failed to help and root for the underdog. Jerry loved his family.
He was proud of his long sobriety, and of helping hundreds of others to overcome their addictions through sponsorship and counseling.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings, Peggy (Steve) Orberson of Stanford, and Doug (Jennifer) Lamb of Lancaster, as well as nieces and nephews, Teresa (Darin) Gesin of Danville, Tim Smith of San Antonio, Texas, Murphy Lamb of Louisville, Blair Lamb of Campbellsville, and Laura Lamb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5 – 8 PM Friday, September 29, 2023 at the Lancaster Masonic Lodge # 104 – 436 Industry Road in Lancaster. Friends & family may share memories or leave condolences on his tribute wall at: www.ramsey-young.com and/or ckccrematory.com.
