Larry “Bruce” Adams, 66 of Lancaster KY, passed away July 21, 2023, at Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center, Harrodsburg Ky. Born Wednesday, January 2, 1957, in Lancaster KY, he was a son of the late Charles Jefferson and Katherine Carrier Adams of Lancaster. He was a former employee of Cormney/Nunemaker Construction and for many years he was a Truck Driver for the Lexington Herald. He loved serving Garrard County. He was elected as a Constable for his district and served two terms. He volunteered his time at the Garrard County Emergency Management System. He was also a storm tracker and kept abreast on weather conditions in Garrard County alerting officials when storms were on the horizon. He loved history and was an avid civil war collector. He was often seen around surrounding counties metal detecting and had quite the collection of civil war bullets and other Civil War memorabilia, to which, some were donated to the Jessamine County Historical Society. He was an avid gardener, and his specialty was growing prize winning pumpkins. He won several awards for his pumpkins. In his teen years, he loved drag racing and won many trophies. He was often spotted at the Bluegrass Racetrack in Nicholasville on Sunday afternoons. Survivors include his daughter, Tasha Lynn Adams of Harrodsburg; sister, Sharon (Randy) Adams of Lancaster; grandson, Xavian Padgett of Harrodsburg; niece Dr. Kaitlyn (Ashton) Glasscock of Franklin Tn. great nephews, Silas and Stetson Glasscock of Franklin Tn. and a special aunt, Ruth Tracy of Lancaster, KY. Bruce was a member of the Scott’s Fork Christian Church.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Odis Clark and Merl Baldwin officiating. Visitation will be held beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at the Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers include Joey Henschen, Merl Baldwin, David Moore, Kevin Arnold, Billy Joe Arnold and Clyde Bertram.
