Margaret D. Land, 96, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. Born October 15, 1924 in Garrard County, she was a daughter of the late Joe R. & Maggie Montgomery Duncan. Margaret was a retired employee from the Advocate Messenger and the Garrard County News, was the oldest member of Lancaster Baptist Church, had taught Sunday School and Bible School there, as well as a member of the W.M.U. at the church and was also a member of the D.A.R. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Land, a granddaughter, Kelly Risner, a brother, James Edmund Duncan and three sisters, Dorothy Folger, Sallie Elizabeth Moore & Helen Duncan.
She is survived by three sons, James Earl (Carolyn) Land, John (Beverly) Land, and David Land, all of Lancaster, five grandchildren, James K. Land, Lea Andra (Robert) Foster, Bethany (Jason) Denny, Joshua Land, Jennifer (Michael) Stinnett, as well as 12 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 29, 2021 at Lancaster Baptist Church by Revs. Harold Best, Garry Carringer & Matt Cooke, with burial following in Lancaster Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5—8 PM Sunday, March 28th at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home, and from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be Eddie Moore, James Wesley Moore, Larry Long, James David Moore, Craig Cassada & David Risner. Honorary bearers will be Brenda Huffman, Betty Graves, Margaret Ann Long, Gina Green & The Lottie Moon W.M.U. of Lancaster Baptist Church.
