Ronald Herbert Thomas, age of 75, of Lancaster, passed on July 18, 2021, at his farm in Lancaster, Kentucky. Mr. Thomas was born on May 21, 1946, in Danville, Kentucky to Nellie and Herbert Thomas.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Coldiron Thomas, his daughter Michelle (Jeff) Carver, of Danville and his 3 grandchildren - Cameron Carver, Colin Carver, and Kendall Carver.
Ron Graduated from Lancaster High School where made a number of lifelong friends and developed a lasting love for the game of football. Throughout his life, he gave considerable effort and dedication towards developing a strong youth football program for Garrard County.
Professionally, Ron spent 30 years at IBM/Lexmark as a tool and die maker. After retirement from this company, he continued this profession as a salesman of tool and die equipment, affording him a great many experiences and memories as he traveled across the state of Kentucky in this venture.
Post-professionally, Ron spent his latter years dedicated to family and farming. Throughout this time he attended the Preachersville United Methodist church.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Herbert Thomas, his sisters Minnie Lemay and Judy Brockman.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Lancaster Cemetery by Rev. Lanny Hazelwood. Pallbearers will be Greg Lemay, Nick Shelton, Zack Shelton, Jeff Durham, & Travis Durham. Honorary bearers will be his 1964 classmates of Lancaster High School, Shawn Gelhausen, Rick Shelton, Tina McKitrick & Stacy Rodriguez.
