Roy Browning, Jr. Obituary

Roy Nathaniel Browning (Little Roy), age 38, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021, at his home in Lancaster, Kentucky.  Little Roy was one of twin boys, born Labor Day, Monday, September 6, 1982, in Monroe, North Carolina.  He is the son of Betty Perez, and one of 5 sons of the late Roy Browning (Big Roy). He graduated from Garrard County High School where he later became a skilled carpenter and machine operator. He loved his family and friends unconditionally, especially his two beautiful children, Abigail and Rylan. He was a very loving and caring father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend.  He loved fishing, had no enemies, was fun to be around, and had the most contagious laugh.  He and his brothers took care of each other and were each other’s keepers. He was a Christian and enjoyed reading his Bible.  His baby girl, Abigail, said, “He gave really warm hugs and always lightened your mood and made everyone smile”.  Behind his smile and laughter, he struggled with his own demons that affected him throughout his life, but he rarely let anyone know the heartache he felt.  Besides his two children, Abigail and Rylan Browning, and the love of his life and mother of his children, Laura East, he is survived by his mother, Betty Eason Anderson Browning Perez (Antonio); his four brothers: his twin, Anthony Alan Browning (Janey Lee Cox); Shawn Powell (Tonya); Brandon Anderson (Jenica), and Josh Anderson, all of Lancaster, Kentucky.  He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Helen Kirkley, of South Carolina, and nieces and nephews: Zander Powell, Reagan Powell, Bristol Powell, Karsten Powell, Tyler Herbert-McQueary, Jack Moore, Jordan Anderson, Ace Anderson, Myles Anderson and Willa Anderson, as well as numerous family members and friends.  His little nephews called him “ackleroy” (Uncle Roy) and they loved him.  His best friend was his twin brother, Anthony, and his other brothers, but if he didn’t have a twin brother, he would have considered Cecil Byrd (Birdman) a best friend and brother.  Little Roy is preceded in death by his father, Roy Browning (Big Roy), his sister, Reatha Browning, his maternal grandfather, Joe Thomas Eason, his paternal grandmother, Reatha Browning, and paternal grandfather, Walter Browning.  Little Roy’s wishes for cremation have been honored and a memorial service will be held this Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 P.M. (EST), in the basement dining hall of the Lancaster First Assembly of God Church at 495 Industry Road in Lancaster, Kentucky.  Friends and family are invited to bring a dish and enjoy a potluck dinner at the church in celebration of Roy’s life.  COVID restrictions will be observed.  In lieu of flowers, a trust fund was started at Whitaker Bank for his two young children. Any contributions can be made out to Abigail and Rylan Browning in honor of their father.
