Sandra (Sandy) Mae Wilson, 78, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away in her home in Danville, Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Born November 8, 1944 in Clinton, Illinois, Sandy was the daughter of the late Ellis and Edna Seaton. She had been an administrative assistant at Illinois Power Company and was a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson. Her survivors include a daughter, Jennifer (Dan) McClelland, of Danville and a grandson, Ryan (Kandace) McClelland.
Sandy had just recently moved to the Bluegrass from Illinois to be closer to her family. She was extremely proud of her family and loved spending time with them. She jumped in serving at Hyattsville Baptist Church and loved spending time with her new circle of friends. She was a seasoned snowbird and loved to spend her winters at her home in Bonita Springs, Florida and was active in her Florida Church, Gospel Baptist.
There will be a Celebration of Life Visitation from 4:00 PM— 7:00 PM Monday, July 24, 2023, at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home in Lancaster, KY.
Funeral services will be held at the Star of Hope Chapel, in Decatur, IL, Thursday, July 27, 2023, with burial following at Graceland/Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Thursday. Pallbearers include Josh Hastings, Aaron David, Todd Banning, Bo Banning, Andy Hastings, and Mike Overstreet. Honorary pallbearers include Jack McClelland & the Hyattsville Baptist Church Pairs –n– Spares Community Group. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Thursday, July 27, 2023.
