William Stephen “Stevie” Ballard, 68, of Lancaster, husband of Juanita Winchester Ballard, passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at UK Medical Center in Lexington. Born Friday, August 13, 1954 in Danville, he was a son of the late Hubert Lee & Doris Dean Blankenship Ballard. Stevie was a brick mason by trade & a former firefighter stationed at Camp Dick Fire Department. He was a member of the Garrard County Fair Board & Bryantsville Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife Juanita include his daughter, Stephanie Anne Ballard (Mark Riffle), of Lexington, brothers, Paul Dean (Charlotte) Ballard, Mark Anthony (Susan) Ballard, both of Bryantsville; sisters, Linda Lee (The late Jimmy) Baker, of Bryantsville, Lola Suzanne (David) Proctor, of Harrodsburg; grandson, Dakota “Cody” (Charity) Ballard, of Harrodsburg & his beloved dog ,“Taz”.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Ramsey-Young Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Montgomery officiating and burial following at the Ballard Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include Sammy Marsee, Layne Marsee, Dalton Marsee, Greg Hensley, Jason Hensley, Mark Riffle, Randy Broaddus & Tim Herrick. Honorary pallbearers include Buddy Hulett, Kenneth “Ug” Robinson, Chris Strevels, Josh Gibson, Jerry Lee Winchester, Jeremy Catlett, Tony Ballard, Jamie Ballard, Brandon Ballard, Jason Griffitts, Shane Baker, David Gibson, Les Vanderpool, Pete Dominion, Billy C. Doolin, Ricky Turner, Gary Goode, Ben Walling, Steven Hagar & Colby Reik. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 PM Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the funeral home & 12:00—2:00 PM on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at the funeral home.
