Obituary

Wanda Lynn King, 67, of Paint Lick, wife of Doug King, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born on Friday, August 26, 1955 in Warrensburg, Missouri, she was a daughter of the late James & Francis Parsons Barb. Wanda was a former retail service manager. She was a deaconess at Fairview Christian Church, and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Barb, Steve Barb & Jerry Barb.

Survivors other than her husband Doug include her daughter, Melissa (Elliot) Denson, of St. Petersburg, Florida; step-daughters, Beth (Robbie) Castle, of Crab Orchard, Kentucky; Amanda (Ryan) Lawrence, of Perryville, Kentucky; brother, James Barb; sisters, Frankie (Tom) Hoagland, Sharon Naylor, Mary Ann McKeehan; grandchildren, Justin (Danitza) Crowley, Halee Barker, Molly (Tyler) Tungate, Nate Baker & Haileigh Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Annora Burgess & Liam Crowley, as well as her beloved dog  “Shooter”.

Wanda’s wishes for cremation have been honored & a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in honor of Wanda, contributions and donations go to the Garrard County Animal Shelter. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Ramsey-Young Funeral Home & Central KY Cremation for their kindness & professionalism  during this difficult time, as well as Heritage Hospice & UK Medical Center for their compassionate care.
